Edward Davis Elevated to CEO, Charlie Lord to Become Non-Executive Chairman, Stephen Pritchard to Serve as President
BOSTON, MA, UNITED STATES, October 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Renew Energy Partners, a GDEV Management-backed energy infrastructure financing platform headquartered in Boston, today announces leadership transitions for its founders and welcomes its next generation of executive leadership. On October 15, Charlie Lord, co-founder and Managing Principal for the past 13 years will transition day-to-day business management to Edward Davis, previously Renew’s Chief Commercial Officer. Stephen Pritchard, co-founder and Managing Principal becomes President, continuing to oversee all technical operations for the engineering-plus-finance firm.
As CEO, Davis will lead Renew’s next phase of growth in developing and financing energy infrastructure projects for commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. Lord will continue with Renew as Managing Principal through the end of 2026 to ensure a smooth transition. Beginning January 1, 2027, Lord’s transition to Non-Executive Chairmanship will take effect.
“We built Renew for the long term,” said Lord, “and that always meant building a team that could carry it forward. Ed is the right leader for this stage in our journey, and I couldn’t be more excited to seat him in the cockpit. We have already grown under his leadership as Chief Commercial Officer and I’m confident the sky is the limit from here.”
“I’m grateful for the trust that Charlie and Steve have placed in me,” said Davis, “and for the team that we’re building to lead us into this next chapter. The world needs more and better energy infrastructure solutions. Renew is perfectly positioned to meet this turbulent moment and I couldn’t be more excited about the work ahead of us.”
“We’ve been building toward this,” said Pritchard, “and I’m confident Ed is the right person to lead Renew. I look forward to partnering with Ed as we continue delivering unparalleled engineering-led financing solutions.”
Charlie Lord, Steve Pritchard and Doug Foy founded Renew Energy Partners in 2013. The three were working on various sides of climate change—finance, engineering and governmental programs respectively—when they zeroed-in on investment capital for energy infrastructure retrofits at commercial and industrial buildings as a key driver of impact in the fight against climate change. Renew is one of a handful of companies that developed the energy-as-a-service sector into the billion-dollar category that it is today. Renew is known for its expert team across energy project finance and development, and for its unique ability to deliver a wide array of behind-the-meter solutions, from solar and lighting to complex systems including microgrids, CHPs, and geothermal.
Renew Energy Partners received its first round of growth capital in 2022 from GDEV Management, which catalyzed significant growth from project developers into project owners.
“Renew is exactly the kind of platform we look to back: a differentiated team solving hard problems in a market that keeps getting bigger,” said Quinn Pasloske, Managing Director at GDEV Management. “Since our investment, Renew has made the leap from developer to owner and operator, and we are excited to support this leadership team as Renew continues to scale.”
Of particular note is Renew’s impact in the manufacturing sector. Long believed to be too complicated for energy infrastructure upgrades, Renew has funded transformative projects at major manufacturing hubs and supply chains around the country. The sector makes up one third of its total portfolio.
Ed Davis joined Renew Energy Partners in 2025 with domain expertise across clean energy sectors including distributed generation, utility-scale renewables, EV charging and energy efficiency. As both an investor and executive, Davis has closed multiple platform investments, commercialized and scaled C&I energy businesses, and financed approximately 2 GW of solar projects. At Renew Energy Partners, Davis has grown the business development team, introduced new financing mechanisms, and helped grow the asset base by ~30% in under 12 months.
